Eight Favorites For MD OL

Maryland offensive lineman Trey Tonsing had a busy month of May on the phones talking to colleges. Still, Tonsing has not received any scholarship offers yet. Expect that to change soon.

Offensive lineman Trey Tonsing of Westlake High School in Waldorf, Maryland is one of the elite prospect out of the state of Maryland in 2004. As a junior, Tonsing compiled an impressive state sheet, making 62 tackles including 16 tackles for loss and six sacks. Still, Tonsing expects to be an offensive lineman at the next level.

A football talent who lists Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Penn State, Connecticut, Boston College, Alabama, N.C. State, and Virginia Tech as his favorites, Tonsing had a busy May on the phone with college recruiters.

"I talked to Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Penn State, Yale, VMI, William & Mary, Richmond, Harvard, Virginia Tech and a couple more," Tonsing said. "But Ohio State, Penn State, and Vanderbilt are my favorites."

Still, Tonsing said that he has a lot of interest in the Tech program and was impressed with their facilities at the NIKE camp in May. "I thought the Tech campus was really nice," he said. "I didn't think my performance was the best, but the campus was real nice and the buildings were nice."

Along with Tech, Tonsing has been to see Alabama at camp this year and will also be going to Vanderbilt, N.C. State, Boston College, Yale, and Penn State.
