"It's going well," Jenkins said of his recruitment. "Michigan State is interested in me. They've offered me a scholarship already. So has Kent State and Akron."
While Jenkins has three offers, he still likes several other schools including Virginia, UNC, and Virginia Tech.
How heavily is Tech recruiting the Newport News receiver? "I've heard from Tech a little bit, but more from UVa," Jenkins said. "[UVa] sends media guides and want me to come to some games. My coach said Tech will be talking to me during the season, though."
Jenkins, who has been "lifting weights, running, training, and hoping to have a great season this year," noted that Woodside High School is looking good for this season. "We had a great scrimmage and we did better than I thought we were going to do," he said. "Our line busted their butts and we're looking pretty good. We're looking good on both sides of the ball, really."
Woodside, who went 8-2 last season and still didn't make the playoffs, hopes to make the playoffs in 2003 – but they want more. "I think we can go all the way to states," Jenkins said. "We can do that if we just work hard and do our thing."
