Fagan: "It Was Awesome"

Jared Fagan took an unofficial visit down from Maryland to watch Virginia Tech take on Miami on Saturday. After watching the Hokies dominate, how does Fagan feel about Tech? Do the Hokies lead?

"It was nice. It was real fun and exciting," Maryland athlete Jared Fagan said. "I had a good time and got to see the campus too."

Fagan has said in the past that he is looking for a ‘chill' place to spend his college years, one free of distractions. In Blacksburg, Fagan said he could definitely see just that. "I know there was a lot of excitement because of the game, but it seems like it would be a calm cool place to be," he said.

Still, the atmosphere of Saturday night was overwhelming. "It was awesome," he said. "Everybody there, they have a lot of school spirit. Face painting and all kinds of stuff. It seems like it would be a nice place to play as far as fan support."

Fagan was also very impressed with the defense. "The defense was money last night," he said. "They were on."

After the game, Fagan, who noted that he will likely be a defensive back at Tech, went down to the locker room. "We met all the coaches," he said. "I finally got to see Coach Hite face to face. I met Coach Beamer for a second. We went into the locker room after the game, but there was a lot of reporters and people down there too. But it was really cool. It was it crazy."

Fagan, who spoke to recruits such as Sean Glennon and Eddie Royal while at Tech, notes that Virginia Tech still leads. "They're definitely up there [on top,]", he said. "I still would like to get down there on an official and stuff like that, but I'll probably commit pretty soon. I would guess mid-December."

"I still have an official to Connecticut December 12th and then am in the process of setting one up with Marshall."

After trips to Connecticut, Tech and Marshall, expect a decision to be made – and expect Fagan to be a Hokie.
