And now he is blessed with options, as yet another big-time ACC offer came through Tuesday afternoon. ACC-champion Virginia Tech decided to make Nekos Brown's decision a little more interesting by throwing their hat into the ring.
"The offer from Virginia Tech has broadened the recruiting picture for me," Brown said, "They are a good school with a great football program, with a great coaching staff, and they are the ACC champs."
"It gives me a lot to think about right now."
Although the 6-foot-3, 220 pound monster played defensive end for Thomas Stone High School last season, he is a projected inside linebacker in college. As a junior, Brown 60 tackles with a whopping 38 for loss, 7 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 3 fumble recoveries.
"UVA still leads in my recruiting," Brown explained, "but Virginia Tech is a close second."
Brown is anticipating heading to Blacksburg shortly to take a another peek at the Hokies and get a more formal exchange with the coaching staff.
"I will be going on an unofficial visit to Virginia Tech to meet the rest of the coaching staff and to see the campus sometime in July," Brown said. "It will be on a Saturday because I have to go to summer school to take a couple of classes I took in 9th grade to bring up my core GPA to match my ACT score."
Brown is looking to make an early decision; "I would like to make my decision before the beginning of the season to make my senior year in high school a little less stressful," Brown explained. "I can then focus on getting myself better prepared for college."
