VTInsider spoke with Richmond, Virginia tight end Duane Brown about his recruitment Friday afternoon. The Hermitage High School product told VTI that “Virginia, Virginia Tech, Maryland, pretty much all the ACC schools, and Northwestern” are some of the schools that are actively recruiting him.
“Virginia Tech, Northwestern, the University of Richmond, and Maryland have offered me,” he continued. As for a favorite, Brown noted that Virginia Tech is in the lead at this point.
“Virginia Tech is probably my top choice right now,” Brown said. “I like the coaching staff a lot and they have nice facilities. They have a pretty good tradition and reputation too. I like the offense too. They want me at tight end and they just said they would like to use their tight end a lot and get the ball to me.”
So far this summer, Brown has attended Virginia and Maryland football camps and has no plans to attend other camps or take more visits the rest of the summer.
Last season, Brown recorded 103 tackles and five sacks defensively while catching the ball six times for 63 yards on offense. Brown noted that he has a 40 time of 4.8 seconds and and bench press of 300 pounds.
