"Virginia Tech is close to home and the whole coaching staff is real cool and [I like] their style of offense."
In addition to the four aforementioned schools, Brooks sports offers from Tennessee, N.C. State, North Carolina, and South Carolina. However, it was the Hokies who were the first to extend him an offer.
"Virginia Tech offered me back in February," said Brooks. "It wasn't until after the [Peninsula District] combine [held at Christopher Newport University] that I started to get the other offers."
Additionally, Brooks revealed that he speaks more to the staff at Virginia Tech then any other coaching staff.
"I talk to Coach [Curt] Newsome and Coach [Jim] Cavanaugh," said Brooks. "Coach Cavanaugh is my recruiting coordinator. They said that they want me and that they can get the best out of me. They [also] say that I will fit in with the players."
"Just in case something happens," Brooks plans to make a verbal commitment by the end of August.
During his junior season, Brooks earned all-district second team honors in football. He also was the indoor shot put state champion in 2005.
