"I don't have any favorites right now," said Via, who has plenty of room for growth at 6-6, 250 pounds. "I just got back from a camp at Florida, and that was really good. I talked to all their coaches and came away with a good impression. I'm pretty interested in them, but I'm still looking at a lot of schools."
Virginia Tech, Clemson, South Carolina, Wake Forest and NC State are among the others he is interested in.
"I'm going up to a camp at Virginia Tech on June 10, but other than that I'm not really sure. I might be going to NC State for a camp on June 11, but I'm not exactly sure of the day. I went to Wake Forest for a practice a while back, but I'm not sure if I'm going to get back up there again."
Northeast Guilford finished 7-5 last season thanks in large part to Via's efforts on the line. They figure to improve this year after losing only a few seniors.
With a somewhat lean frame for a lineman, Via should fill out dramatically once he arrives at college. His greatest assets are his agility and flexibility.
"When will I make my decision? It's pretty up in the air I guess. I want to find a school with good academics. I'm looking to major in engineering, so I'd like it if the school is strong in that area. Then I'll look at the quality of the football program."
