The 6-1, 170 pound rising senior from Bartow, FL holds offers from Virginia Tech and Rutgers, and right now the two schools sit atop his list. That's subject to change, however.
"Those two schools have offered me and they've shown the most interest in me," said Johnson. "I've been to Virginia Tech and thought it was a nice place. I talked to the coaches but I still want to learn more about the place. I had a good time there. I'm going up to Rutgers for a camp on June 23, so I'll get to see what it's like up there.
"Honestly, right now those two are out front because they want me the most. Other than that I'm pretty open. I'd like to hear from some other schools, like Florida and Florida State, being from down here."
Last year Johnson caught 26 passes for 709 yards and seven scores. On defense he recorded 23 tackles and an interception. What makes him so successful?
"Basically I just work harder than everybody else," said Johnson. "I'm going to do whatever it takes to win, and I leave it all out there."
Johnson plans on announcing his decision at the end of his senior season.
Wide receiver Malcolm Johnson won't be the biggest or the fastest prospect on the field in any college game, but his work ethic sets him apart from most.
