Video Interview: CB Gavin Williams

Gavin Williams

2011 CB Gavin Williams is fighting to be called the best corner prospect in the state of Virginia, regardless of class. Scout.com spoke with Williams following day 2 of the Dre Bly Football Camp in Virginia Beach this past weekend. Gavin gets a little fired up about who should be considered the best CB in-state, but it is all in good fun. Check out his video interview inside.

Gavin Williams was hands down the best high school athlete on Dre Bly Field this past weekend. The only two guys that were more talented than Gavin happened to be NFL All-Pros Dre Bly and Brandon Marshall.

Williams looks every bit the part of a big time cornerback prospect. He boasts a 4.4 second forty-yard dash on a laser timer, and looked lightning quick in drills and 7-on-7's throughout the camps many events this past weekend.

Gavin has fluid hips, terrific feet, and a knack for being in the right place at the right time. Williams and another 2011 CB prospect, Demetrious Nicholson are already being compared to each other to determine who is the best cornerback in the Commonwealth.

If you ask Gavin, which I did, he is not shy to tell you that he is the best CB prospect in Virginia. When he refers to "Tre", Gavin is talking about Bayside junior CB Demetrious Nicholson.

Williams does not have a true leader in recruiting, but he reports the most interest from Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Virginia, Notre Dame, and Georgia.
