VTInsider.com recently talked with running back Tyler Hamilton, from East Rutherford North Carolina. Hamilton turned some heads recently at the Scout.com Combine in Charlotte, using his smallish stature to his advantage in one-on-one drills against bigger, slower linebackers and defensive backs.
Tyler Hamilton looked impressive recently at the Scout.com Charlotte Combine. Hamilton told me prior to the camp that no one would be expecting him to get off the line like he would and that was true. He made a few defensive backs whiff when attempting to jam off the line. Hamilton showed off a nice hop-step to the left and got off free almost every time. Hamilton is short but he is filled out very nicely in his upper body and looks like he would be able to withstand a pounding. He caught the ball very well, never letting the ball into his chest and adjusted nicely to a few underthrown balls. He looks the part of a shifty slot receiver or a situational third down running back capable of pounding the ball when necessary.
With a sister already enrolled at Virginia Tech, the Hokies definitely sound like they are tops on Tyler’s list. Virginia, Wake Forest, and LSU are also high on his personal list. Check out his interview below.
